Welcome to the 2009 Vancouver Symposium, as part of the International Association of Music Information Centres’ (IAMIC) Annual Conference . The annual IAMIC conference is an international reunion of new music specialists and an educational event with seminars and discussions on all aspects of new music promotion, performance, policy and politics. It is also a planning platform for IAMIC internal development.

Each year, a different member organization hosts this event. This year Canada is honoured to host delegates from around the world. The Canadian Music Centre is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2009, and it is for this reason especially honoured to have esteemed music guests from around the world joining us.

In conjunction with the conference, a symposium is held and is open to members of the arts community.
